The Odyssey Convertible Bag is a trendy fashion backpack. It holds all your essentials and transitions easily from a backpack to a shoulder bag. Switch the straps around to create a crossbody bag or a sling. There are plenty of pockets so you don’t lose anything in your purse.
The Odyssey works well in thin vinyl as well as fabric. The convertible option is written for the small size; the large size is written as a backpack only. The small size can also be made as a backpack only and works well as a children's backpack.

It has two finishing options: a binding method or turning through a pocket.

This pattern is suitable for intermediate to experienced bag-makers.
Sizing info:-
Small = 11” wide, 12.5” tall, 4” deep (28 by 31.8 by 10.2 cm).
Large = 13” wide, 16” tall, 5” deep (33 by 40.6 by 12.7 cm).
Fabric, interfacing and hardware requirements:-
- Exterior fabric, lining fabric, accent fabric,
- Woven fusible interfacing,
- Foam interfacing,
- One 18mm magnetic snap,
- One 24" or 30" #5 zipper, preferably a double pull zipper,
- One 6" or 7" zip,
- One 7" or 8" zip.
The pattern:-
This pattern includes 39 pages of instructions, with detailed diagrams, photos, and links to a video tutorial. There are 34 pages of the printable pattern, but not all of the pages need to be printed. Pattern instructions are given in both inches and centimeters. This can be printed on Letter or A4 paper. Also included are an A0 printshop large format file and a projector file (both optional).
