This is a beginner-friendly quick and simple sew, a zipper bag that is a staple pattern in any sewers library. We like the way the bag is turned through the inside pocket for a flawless finish.


The Nasyow Pouch is a beginner-friendly quick and simple sew, where the pattern helps you to centre your fabric to feature a particular image or pattern. It’s suitable for panels up to a size of 4 ½” tall and 5 ½” wide.

The Nasyow Pouch features a neat, fitted lining and an interior slip pocket through which the pouch is turned, thereby ensuring the main lining is completely neat, without any binding or seams on show. There are no raw edges in the pattern so you can use cotton, cork, vinyl or leather.

Nasyow is the Cornish word for “feature”.

Skill level:

Recommended fabrics:
Quilting cotton, canvas, cork or vinyl for the exterior fabric. If using cork or vinyl, make sure your machine can handle the additional layers and press seams with your fingers instead of using heat. 

For the lining fabric, quilting cotton or a light waterproof canvas is recommended.

Materials needed:

  • Exterior fabric measuring 14½” by 10″.
  • Lining fabric measuring 23″ by 10″.
  • Medium loft fusible fleece measuring 14½” by 10″.
  • Medium woven interfacing measuring 37½” by 10″.
  • One 8″ zip (#3).

Included is a step by step photo guide as well as printable pattern pieces. You’ll receive 2 downloads on purchase. The first is “letter” size paper for use in the USA and Canada. The second is A4 paper for use in the rest of the world.
