This pattern & tutorial shows you how to make a lovely structured clutch purse with a beautiful woven front & gently curved top detail reminiscent of vintage glamour. It's closed with a sunken/ hidden zip construction for a clean, professional-looking finish. The clutch is fully lined & has an internal credit card sized pocket for extra practicality.

I would rate this as an intermediate to advanced level sewing project as there are just over 100 steps in the instructions which need to be followed carefully. However, as with all of my patterns, nothing is assumed and every step is very clearly described and illustrated so that confident, patient beginners are able to follow also.

This design would suit medium to heavyweight satins such as duchess, shantung, brocades, jacquards or cottons and canvas...or lighter weight fabrics with the addition of some fusible interfacing to add body. Not so suitable for fabrics which crease heavily, such as pure linens.

Measurements throughout are quoted in both metric & inches. Pattern includes all seam allowances.

Sizing info:

The finished clutch will measure approx. 28 cm wide x 18 cm tall (11" x 7") with a 7.5 cm (3") deep base at the widest part -a practical size for weddings, parties or dressed-up daytime wear.
