Edingthorpe Satchel bag
This stylish purse is the Edingthorpe Satchel Messenger Bag, influenced by satchels, which were the original ’cross-body’ bags. This simple style gives a nod to those popular in the 1940s and features a pleated front pocket, a choice of two flap styles, and two interior pocket options—one zipped and one ‘patch’. If you choose, you can also make it with a plain front pocket instead of a pleated one. The vintage-inspired Edingthorpe Satchel is a practical shape and size for all uses and occasions and can be made in a variety of fabrics, and with a contrasting strap/front pocket.
Marsham Messenger Bag
This is a sewing pattern for The Marsham Messenger Bag, inspired by the 1940s ‘make-do-and-mend’ era. This strikingly simple messenger bag is pieced together with three contrasting fabrics to give a homespun look with infinite possibilities. The Marsham Messenger Bag pattern also includes instructions for adding an interior patch pocket, using the flap template. It can be made in anything from traditional wool tweed paired with corduroy or moleskin to cotton decorator fabrics and is the ideal size for everyday use.
Sidestrand Bag
This is a sewing pattern for the Sidestrand Bag, a graceful design with a 1930s feel. With its elegant asymmetrical styling and sophisticated bow, Sidestrand is the perfect size and shape for smart day wear or special occasions. It looks stunning in a huge range of fabrics from tweeds and corduroy for classic daywear to pretty printed fabrics or even silk to elevate it into something very special. This vintage-inspired pattern includes a template for an interior patch pocket, of which you can make one or two.
Brockford Bag
This is a sewing pattern for the Brockford Bag, a sizeable multi-pieced 1940s-inspired style, reminiscent of the overnight bags of a bygone era, featuring Charlie’s Aunt’s signature asymmetrical styling. Brockford features contrasting upper and lower panels and can be made with either a self-fabric or purchased strap. There is a choice of interior patch or zipper pockets. This style makes up well in either two or three contrasting fabrics including wool tweeds, flannel, corduroy, coating weight, and decorator weight fabrics.
