The Carrie Tote Bag is a half-and-half rectangular tote bag sewing pattern with instructions for making two different sizes.

A quick and easy sewing tutorial with full-scale pattern templates to make a stylish, original project bag. Templates included so no need for measuring, BUT if you want to work from measurements, full instructions are provided so you can just cut and sew without having to print.

These rectangular, wide base tote bags are perfect for knitting, sewing, or embroidery projects on the go. The distinctive shape makes them both practical and stylish and - use it for DIY projects, take it shopping or out to lunch! Make it in contrasting plains or prints - the possibilities are endless and the choice is yours!

The Carrie tote can be made with leather OR two-tone fabric handles that match the 'half-and-half' design of the bag - instructions for making both are included in the pattern.

The end result is a beautiful quality, fully lined bag with an internal zipper pocket, hook and ring closure, and a feature button and loop fastening that give a distinct, couture look. ALL of your friends are going to want one of when they see yours - the designer knows this from experience!

Skill level:
An easy project for an improving beginner used to basic sewing techniques and using a sewing machine.

Sizing info:
Two Sizes: Small = 9" wide by 9.5" high by 8" deep. Large = 10" wide by 11.5" high by 8" deep.

Any medium-weight woven fabrics are fine for these bags. The base needs to be made with a non-directional printed fabric, plain or striped. The designer recommends the use of medium-weight woven fusible interfacing with your fabrics - either Pellon SF101 or Vilene G700 will be fine. The pattern includes a full list of all fabric requirements and a sundries list for both sizes.

The pattern:
You will receive seventeen pages of clear, easy to follow step-by-step instructions with color photos throughout, AND, a set of full-scale computer-drawn templates that do not need to be scaled - simply print, cut out and assemble the templates and use them to make the size of your choice.
