For the fabric, for the exterior of the bag, the designer recommends you use designer cotton canvas, Essex linen, cotton/linen blend fabric, denim, or medium weight home décor fabric. Waxed canvas could also be used, however, if you use waxed canvas there is no need to add interfacing.

For the fabric for the lining, the designer used quilting cotton for the main lining, but she says you can also use duck canvas. If you do use canvas there is no need to add interfacing. With regards to the pocket linings, she says that quilting cotton works best.
